Cancer Care Northwest is proud to announce the induction of Dr. Ryan Holbrook, surgical oncologist, as the new Practice President. For a two-year term, Dr. Holbrook will help lead CCNW in the continued mission to apply the unique comprehensive, innovative, compassionate and integrated approach to beating cancer here in the Inland Northwest. Dr. Holbrook will be taking on the role previously held by Dr. Joni Nichols, having completed her two-year term, as CCNW Practice President.
“This is an exciting time for cancer treatment in the Inland Northwest as we continue to develop our alliance with the major medical systems in the region,” said Dr. Holbrook. “This will allow us to advance and improve the quality of cancer treatment.”
Dr. Holbrook has been a surgical oncologist for 20 years in Spokane, and practicing at Cancer Care Northwest for the last 13 years. With an exclusive focus on cancer surgery, he specializes in all cancers of the intestinal tract, with particular expertise in cancers of the liver and pancreas, as well as the surgical treatment of melanoma. He introduced several innovative surgical techniques to the Inland Northwest, including sentinel lymph node biopsy for breast cancer and melanoma, as well as the use of Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) for liver cancers. He also pioneered the use of Heated Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) in the Pacific Northwest for the treatment of peritoneal malignancies.
In addition to the highly-specialized surgical oncology treatment Dr. Holbrook provides, he is a fellowship-trained member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, a fellow in the American College of Surgeons, and has received the Best Doctors in America Award annually since 2003.
Please join us in celebrating Dr. Holbrook’s induction as Practice President to Cancer Care Northwest.
