SPOKANE, WA - Cancer Care Northwest (CCNW) is proud to announce the addition of O. Kenneth Macdonald, MD, as the newest radiation oncologist to join the practice. Dr. Macdonald will continue CCNW’s mission to provide a fully integrated approach to the prevention, detection, treatment, and healing of cancer and related diseases while inspiring hope for living.

Dr. Macdonald grew up in west Texas and graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Biochemistry with honors. He completed medical school at the University of Texas Medical Science Center Houston, where he spent a significant component of his time and energy at MD Anderson Cancer Center completing electives, clerkships and research. After his internship at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ, he completed 4 years of specialty training in Radiation Oncology at the University of Utah-Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake, City, Utah, serving as Chief Resident in his final year of training. Dr. Macdonald’s long-time interest in stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and advanced radiotherapy techniques have inspired him to seek for ways to expand the role of radiotherapy in treating a variety of primary and recurrent malignancies.

In his spare time, Dr. Macdonald enjoys exploring the world with his wife, spending time with his 5 children, participating in a variety of fitness activities, barbecuing, and cheering for his favorite sports teams.
