Cancer Care Northwest (CCNW) is proud to announce the induction of Surgical Oncologist, Maryam Parviz, MD, FACS, as the new Practice President. For a two-year term, Dr. Parviz will help lead CCNW in the continued mission to apply the unique comprehensive, innovative, compassionate and integrated approach to beating cancer here in the Inland Northwest. Dr. Parviz will be taking on the role previously held by Dr. Ryan Holbrook, having completed his term as CCNW Practice President in Spring 2020.
Dr. Parviz has been a surgical oncologist at Cancer Care Northwest for 16 years. She pursued her medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. Dr. Parviz completed an internship and residency in general surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and a fellowship in surgical oncology at the Medical College of Virginia. With an exclusive focus on cancer surgery, Dr. Parviz specializes in all gastrointestinal cancers, breast cancer, melanoma and soft tissue sarcomas, as well as pancreatic and hepatobiliary (liver) cancers.
In addition to the providing leading-edge surgical oncology treatment, Dr. Parviz is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is an active member in the Spokane County Medical Society (SCMS), the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO), and the American College of Surgery (ACS). She has also been recognized as one of the Best Doctors in America® consecutively from 2015 to 2019.
