Cancer Care Northwest (CCNW) is proud to announce the addition of Kyra N. McComas, MD, as the newest radiation oncologist to join the practice. Dr. McComas will continue CCNW’s mission to provide a fully integrated approach to the prevention, detection, treatment, and healing of cancer and related diseases while inspiring hope for living.
Dr. McComas grew up hiking and skiing in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated summa cum laude from Santa Clara University with bachelor's degrees in history and biochemistry, then returned to Utah for medical training at the University of Utah School of Medicine.
She completed specialty training in radiation oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, where she published widely and received premier training in various radiation techniques, including intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, adaptive radiotherapy (ART), intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT), and GammaTile brachytherapy.
She absolutely loves being a radiation oncologist and having the opportunity to support patients during a critical time in their lives. Her other passions include playing outside (hiking, biking, skiing), lifting weights, recipe-developing, enjoying sports (particularly basketball), writing, reading, traveling, laughing, and adventuring with her pup.
