Throughout his career, Dr. Lamoreaux has been active in leadership and research, and has published several scientific articles. Together with his research partners of Gamma Knife of Spokane, he has co-authored over 20 original research papers and book chapters since 2007. He has presented his work at numerous national and international meetings. He also served as the Cancer Care Northwest Practice President, Chairman of the Board and Radiation Director. Since joining Cancer Care Northwest in 2005, Dr. Lamoreaux has continued to improve radiation delivery to minimize effects on healthy tissue while optimizing tumor control. 

He has a special interest and extensive experience in intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), Gamma Knife radiosurgery for brain tumors, stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), intra-operative radiotherapy (IORT) and high-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy for prostate, breast and gynecologic cancers. Dr. Lamoreaux co-founded the prostate HDR brachytherapy program at Cancer Care Northwest in 2006, and helped start the SBRT Program in 2007. 

Dr. Lamoreaux is also dedicated to medical education. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Washington and regularly assists in the training of medical students and residents.

Clinical Experience

Intensity Modulated and Image Guide Radiation Therapy:

  • Proficient in inverse treatment planning with ECLIPSE and CMS treatment planning systems, including quality assurance. Capable with Cone-beam, kV, fiducial and ultrasound methods of IGRT.

Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT):

  • Experienced with body immobilization, 4D simulation, PET/CT fusion treatment planning and cone beam CT for lung, head and neck, spine, liver, adrenal, and other intraabdominal sites.

Stereotactic Radiosurgery:

  • Experienced with GammaKnife (personally over 450 cases) and Linear Accelerator-based Stereotactic Radiosurgery.

Prostate, Head and Neck, and Endoluminal HDR Brachytherapy:

  • Skilled in 192Ir high dose rate brachytherapy with Varian and Nucletron systems, including intraoral, esophageal, and endobronchial treatment. Co-founded Cancer Care Northwest’s Prostate HDR brachytherapy program in 2006.

Intraoperative HDR Brachytherapy:

  • Eight years experience with complex intraoperative brachytherapy for aggressive or recurrent abdominopelvic tumors.
