Dr. Andrew Francis, originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, has built a medical career defined by collaboration, compassion, and dedication to patient care. His journey in medicine began at Saba University School of Medicine, followed by a preliminary general surgery residency at Yale University School of Medicine. He then completed his general surgery residency at Summa Health in Akron, Ohio.
Prior to CCNW, Dr. Francis served as a Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellow at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he worked alongside a diverse and dedicated multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive and innovative care for patients with cancer.
During fellowship, his research focused on clinical outcomes through various institution-approved studies, including investigations into the socioeconomic factors contributing to disparities in cancer outcomes. Deeply passionate about surgical oncology, Dr. Francis is committed to advancing the science and practice of cancer care. His ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life and survival of cancer patients through both clinical excellence and the advancement of evidence-based knowledge.
In his free time, Dr. Francis enjoys road and trail running, yoga, and attending visual performing arts performances.
