A love for science and service combined with a passion for women’s health has led Dr. Moline to the field of breast oncology, where she now empowers her patients to make decisions about their breast care.

Dr. Moline knew she wanted to be a doctor from a young age and found herself drawn to surgery while in medical school.  Her experience working with others to achieve a common goal made being a surgeon in the operating room seem like a natural fit.

Originally from Jackson, MS, Dr. Moline attended University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where she completed a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and mathematics. She went on to earn a medical degree from Vanderbilt University, followed by a general surgery residency at the University of South Alabama. During residency, she focused heavily on breast surgical oncology because it embodied everything she was searching for in a surgical profession. Dr. Moline then completed a breast surgical oncology fellowship at University of Michigan. Her specialized fellowship training enables her to perform individualized and unique surgical techniques to treat breast cancer.

“I have always been passionate about women’s health,” says Dr. Moline. “I feel that I can connect on a personal level with my patients and have a good understanding of their needs and goals.  Breast disease is complicated, and my goal is to make this an understandable and doable process."

As a breast surgical oncologist at Cancer Care Northwest, Dr. Moline works with a multidisciplinary team of medical professional outside of Cancer Care Northwest, including plastic surgeons and anesthesiologists, as well as a care team within CCNW that can include medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, a dietician, and oncology counselors to create an individualized plan for her patients. In conjunction with providing oncologic resections for breast cancer patients, she strives to implement the “hidden scar technique” whenever applicable to provide the most aesthetic surgical outcome. Dr. Moline goes above and beyond for her patients, including collaborating closely with the plastic surgeons at Plastic Surgery Northwest to achieve oncoplastic resections and reconstruction. Additionally, to better manage pain during and after surgery, she works closely with anesthesiologists to ensure her patients have access to various options of pain blocks, including pectoral nerve block, and pre-medications. This extra step allows her patients to use fewer narcotics following breast surgery. In addition to treating breast cancer, Dr. Moline also provides surgery services for benign breast disease, high-risk management, genetic testing and counseling.

“When a new patient comes to my clinic, my goal is that when they leave, they will have an understanding of their diagnosis and prognosis, a plan in hand and all their questions and concerns answered,” says Dr. Moline.

As the leading multidisciplinary breast care center in the region, Cancer Care Northwest strives to provide the most up-to-date treatment modalities and stay current with the latest research. Cancer Care Northwest is expanding and pioneering the way for comprehensive breast care in the Inland Northwest.

Dr. Moline lives in Spokane with her husband and children and enjoys the many beautiful activities in the four seasons of the Northwest.
