Andrea Balazs, ARNP, came to Cancer Care Northwest in 1999. As a Nurse Practitioner, she routinely sees patients for follow up visits, teaches them about their disease and its treatment, and deals with many urgent care situations. Born and raised in Spokane, Andrea received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1979 from the University of Washington, graduating cum laude.

As a registered nurse, Andrea worked in a variety of positions. She spent 2 ½ years on the oncology unit at University Hospital in Seattle, and eight years at a 40-bed hospital in Kenai, Alaska. In 1995, she graduated from Gonzaga University with a Masters of Science Degree in nursing and was certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to joining Cancer Care Northwest, she worked with a group of anesthesiologists specializing in chronic pain management.
